Jamie H. Kidd

Jamie Kidd joined Webb & Eley in January of 2008 after serving as an assistant attorney general with the Alabama Department of Public Health. She regularly advises and defends public and private entities on a broad range of labor and employment law issues. While litigation is obviously a significant part of this practice, she always emphasizes the importance of proactive training, policy review, and counsel in human resources matters. Jamie is also regularly involved in complex litigation, specifically including civil rights litigation and issues of statutory and regulatory construction in areas such as tax policy, securities litigation, and land use.

Jamie is the primary contact for the Firm’s appellate practice group. She has successfully defended against petitions for writ of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court, including serving as the lead attorney of the defense group in a challenge by former members of the Birmingham Water Works Board to a statute restructuring the Board in the wake of controversy over its provision of services. She has argued in front of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in both employment cases and law enforcement cases, and regularly represents clients before the Alabama Supreme Court and the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals.
