James Webb opened his first private practice in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1972, concentrating his work on defense and regulatory issues faced by the state’s city and county governmental agencies.

In 1993, Webb was practicing with attorneys Michael Eley, Craig Dillard, Daryl Masters and Ken Webb when they decided to form Webb & Eley. Today, the firm continues to focus on the defense and regulatory issues that were the foundation of James Webb’s first practice, while expanding its scope to other legal areas, including insurance defense, workers’ compensation and employment law. The firm moved from its original location in downtown Montgomery to its current east Montgomery office in 2006.
